This piece is part of my new Series “Santos and Crucifix” based on my painting trip to Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico in June. I visited churches, museums, and mountains, drawing inspiration from it all and making plenty of plein air pieces to use as studio reference.

This piece is inspired by my last Sunday in Taos where my girlfriends @toeriee and @marlenatattoo and I got ice cream, wandered around the town square, and admired the Hollyhocks at the church. I was called to paint this kind sister emerging from the flowers bringing the peace and love of that early summer afternoon amongst friends.
