This piece is part of my new Series “Santos and Crucifix” based on my painting trip to Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico in June. I visited churches, museums, and mountains, drawing inspiration from it all and making plenty of plein air pieces to use as studio reference.

This piece is based off a marionette made by Gustavo Baumann that I saw at the @sitesantafe show in June. I put her by a fireplace in the Martinez Hacienda. His marionettes inspired me so much, I would love to make my own someday but I will stick with painting and paper mache for now.
